Netdata - Awesome System Monitoring Tool

Really is a great tool

Also a big fan of Netdata

i recall i tried it long time ago and it was a cpu hog!!! is it lighter now?

It’s consistently low for me, just a few % of CPU usage. A mostly idle MySQL server is using more CPU for me  . On very low powered machines, the Python collectors can use a bit of CPU, but you can just disable those and just use the C ones. Netdata core (and all the core collectors) is extremely lightweight.

You can monitor Netdata’s CPU usage via Netdata itself… Go to the applications section and look at the CPU usage per app

Thanks for this-

I’ve got a combination of self-monitors and external for production. My personal gear is still just using Hetrix- but I’m getting sick of it randomly deciding I’m down and screwing with my uptime because one monitor is perpetually shitty.

Same here, the load is negligible even on small VPS’s
