Any Chromebook users here?

Will see if wiping Bitdefender does the job, too (as @luki9100 pointed out an issue with Bitdefender and login forms). If that doesn’t help, I will wipe chrome  I have no particular desire to keep Bitdefender (free). Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Premium is also good enogh, I guess
MWB tanks a lot.

Perhaps an interesting FAQ: https://chromeunboxed-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/chromeunboxed.com/what-happens-when-a-chrome-os-device-is-no-longer-supported/?amp_js_v=a6&amp_gsa=1&amp&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASCAAgM%3D#aoh=16280812252216&csi=0&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=Von%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fchromeunboxed.com%2Fwhat-happens-when-a-chrome-os-device-is-no-longer-supported%2F

I bought a cheap Chromebook on Black Friday £134 ASUS Flip C214MA N4020 touchscren with stylus, seem quite good for the money, the downside the touch-pad is total crap might just need to drag my fingers faster .

I think am being too hard on it touchscreen and updates until June 2026 with 3 years manufacturer warranty for just £134.

I still have the old Samsung Incero-branded Chromebook @Ryan gave me in 2013. It’s definitely very underpowered now for what it does, but I really liked the idea of a chromebook.

The problem is though, I’m concerned about the limitations of ChromeOS. It’s great for living within the Chrome ecosystem (and web browsing), but I think for more technical people you’ll hit the ceiling of ChromeOS pretty quickly/early on.

But then again, for a purely web surfing device, it’s 10/10 good.

It’s a tablet on steroids, basically. It can by no means replace a Windows or Unix notebook, but for light usage it’s great.

I’ve upgraded to a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 82B80013MH recently, simply because it has a touch screen. Definitely not regretting the upgrade!

That’s fair. I was thinking between a Chromebook and a Macbook Air (M1). I went with the Air. Similar levels of battery life but more capabilities available.

For the hardout portable workstation workload I still use my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme. But then again, my usecase is different from yours (especially since I don’t really need the touchpad experience).
