Contabo

Unfortunately they seem a little lax with respect to cleaning up their own IP space from spammers: http://www.uceprotect.net/en/rblcheck.php?asn=51167

I don’t know how much is UCEPROTECT actually used in anti-spam filters, but I’d like to see Contabo care a little more.

Agree, but their pricing for the Specs you get still is nice

@Ympker how does it compare with Hetzner cloud…?
Maybe I could replace my CPX21 for VPS S SSD… I would get one extra vcpu, extra 4Gb Ram, and an extra 120Gb SSD… and even then pay less… :face_with_head_bandage:

although Contabo would come with 200 Mbit/s Port vs Hetzner?.. 1gbs I think.

I think I have a Hetzner Cloud Account but never got around using it. Contabo didnt have NVMe back then. Lower network port, too.

It comes down to how highly you value connectivity. Just wanted to point out that you can request contabo to be placed on an epyc node as well, since noone seems to be talking about it here.

After your post about epyc I ordered a new Contabo VPS small SSD on a epyc node. Here is a benchmark for reference, the IO is not that good.

Try to make a ticket and see if there’s anything they can do about it. I heard contabo limits your i/o by default.

Yes, done that but they saying it is a normal IO for them. They are promoting the VDS service as a solution though.

That’s a pretty steep upsell, they’re trying to pull. In that case I would probably choose Hetzner or Netcup over Contabo.

isn’t netcup a bit shit I heard a lot of people that didn’t pay their bill in time for like 5$ were prosecuted but really in a violent way without any warns or anything.

That’s really exaggerated. Let’s just say that Netcup wants you to honor a contract.

I don’t want to say bad things about them don’t get me wrong but it’s just what I saw on quite a few reviews.

Yeah, but these are probably reviews by people who thought that not paying if you signed a yearly contract was the sensible thing to do.

In any case, after your invoice you get two weeks to pay. Missed it, you’ll get a reminder. Nothing more. Another reminder after that one and only if you’re still not paying it’s when they give your debt to a collection agency.
